Ira S. Katz


Mr. Katz heads our immigration litigation practice, representing asylum seekers, clients in removal and deportation proceedings, and those seeking waivers, as well as clients in many family-based immigration matters.

In addition, Mr. Katz represents international business clients based in Israel and other countries with matters including: commercial arbitrations, immigration consequences of mergers and acquisitions, and EB-5 investment green cards.

Mr. Katz has also been at the forefront of Green Law. He has assisted numerous green technology start-ups in areas ranging from wind and solar power to carbon trading aggregators with their transactional needs, as well as with the complex government and international laws and regulations that apply to them.

Mr. Katz represents budding green-tech entrepreneurs; a private green incubator, as well as green-tech software developers and organic farmers.    

Formerly, Mr. Katz was general counsel to a global hi-tech company, and before that, a senior attorney at an Israeli law firm representing primarily hi-tech NASDAQ and OTCBB listed companies in Israel and the U.S.  Mr. Katz has also served as international counsel to an aviation company and as chief legal officer and a member of the board of an OTC medical / dental device manufacturer. He has represented governments in commercial transactions and commercial disputes.

With over twenty years of experience, Mr. Katz's practice encompasses both immigration litigation and  broad areas of corporate, finance, commercial transactions and licensing on behalf of a wide range of hi-tech, bio-tech, industrial, energy, and commercial enterprises and hi-worth individuals in the U.S., Israel and Europe, including government entities, publicly and privately held corporations and start-up ventures.

Mr. Katz's unique understanding of corporate, securities and immigration law has been used in assisting NASDAQ companies in structuring mergers & acquistions and relocations from both a business and an immigration law perspective.

Corey Massella

Corey L. Massella is a partner of the firm and CEO of Citrin Cooperman’s SEC Solutions Group. With more than 20 years experience, Corey has served as partner in accounting firms specializing in SEC accounting and audit services along with domestic taxes and consulting services since 1990. He provides audit, tax and business consulting services for clients in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, apparel, financial services, real estate, and technology. Corey has deep experience with financial service firms, including banks, broker-dealers, investor relations firms, and hedge and private equity funds.

As a business consultant, Corey has negotiated mergers and acquisitions, performed due diligence for potential target acquisitions, and has assisted clients in the analysis of cash flows, productivity, personnel, and financing.  He has guided the preparation and development of business plans, and the preparation of public offerings, and has represented clients before governmental agencies such as the IRS and SEC.

Corey is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). He is presently serving as a committee member on the NYSSCPA Securities and Exchange Commission Committee and has served as a committee member on the NYSSCPA Real Estate Committee, Management of an Accounting Practice Committee, the Committee on Cooperation with Bankers, and as an instructor for such societies on accounting and auditing subjects. He is a board member and a sponsor for the Financial Executives Institute (FEI), the Kiertsu Forum and the Long Island Capital Alliance. Corey graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Management.

David O'Brien

Dave O’Brien is the Chair of the Angel Capital Summit Executive Screening Committee and is also the CEO of Business Catapult, a SaaS company that builds communities of entrepreneurs and investors. Dave has over 20 years of Senior Management experience in COO and CFO roles in two successful startups and exits, as well as Senior Operational management positions for four fortune 500 companies, including GE and Tandem Computers. Recently Dave was the COO and CFO for P2 Energy Solutions, a privately held $100M SaaS and outsourcing services company based in Denver.

Dave has an MBA in Finance and Strategy from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University. Dave also participates as a board advisor to several local software companies and as a board advisor to other non-profits.

Greg Berry

Greg has a 20 year career in using media and IT to transform communities. He has been a media entrepreneur since his late teens, and has held many different roles at a series of start-ups and entrepreneurial media companies, including founder, CEO and President, editor, advisor, consultant, angel investor and creative director. In all of these capacities, Greg has been party to 9 startups during his career. He is a cross-network connector, with relationships that span traditional social networks.
